A cafe owner has expressed frustration after having his Mornington Peninsula cafe broken into for the second time in 12 months.

Thieves used a brick to smash through the front door of the McCrae cafe, stealing $300 from the register on Sunday night.

Ryan Toleman is the manager at Merchant and Maker, he told 3AW’s Tom Elliott the loss of trade is the worst part.

“Your whole morning is completely disrupted. For a cafe, obviously your morning rush is a big deal. It’s a big part of your revenue,” said Ryan.

“You’re not allowed to touch stuff, police need to do their work. That’s probably the biggest problem.”

Police are investigating, if you know something contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
