Police need public help to identify a mystery man who’s been in a Melbourne hospital for more than a month after being hit by a train in Melbourne’s north.

The man was struck between Royal Park and Jewell railway stations in Brunswick on July 7, sustaining life-threatening injuries.

More than a month on, he remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition, but no-one has been to visit him and his identity remains a mystery.

He had no phone or wallet on him at the time of the incident.

The man has been able to mumble the names Roy and Ryan from Coburg, although it is unclear if that’s a reference to himself or someone he knows.

The man thought to be aged between 65 and 75, Caucasian and 175cm tall.

Anyone who recognises the man or has information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or at crimestoppersvic.com.au
