Call for ‘significant’ regulation as staggering number of gambling ads air on free-to-air channels
More than a million gambling ads aired on Australian free-to-air TV and radio in a 12-month period, new research commissioned by the Australian Communications and Media Authority reveals.
Public Health Association of Australia CEO, Terry Slevin, says Australia needs “significant” gambling advertising regulation.
“It’s been extraordinarily successful to the point where Australians are the biggest losers … in the world as a result of gambling,” he told Tom Elliott.
