Commuters from Melbourne’s west have been left frustrated with bus replacements on the Williamstown, Werribee and Sunbury lines causing chaos during peak hours on the roads and on public transport.

Public Transport Users Association spokesperson, Daniel Bowen, has called for temporary priority bus lanes, especially on Footscray Road, to allow commuters a smooth ride into the city from the west.

“A bus carrying 70 people should absolutely have priority over a couple of cars carrying two, three or four people,” Mr Bowen told Heidi Murphy, filling in for Neil Mitchell.
