Calls for the City of Melbourne to cut sister city ties with St Petersburg

Melbourne City Council will tonight review its sister city ties with St Petersburg in the wake of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

The council is under fire for not cutting links altogether a year ago, with a protest set to occur later today at Town Hall, led by members of Victoria’s Ukranian community.

Chairman of the Australia Federation of Ukrainian Organisations, Stefan Romaniv, says we’re out of step with the rest of the world.
