Campbellfield shooting victim dies in hospital, man arrested
The victim of Monday’s shooting in broad daylight outside a shopping centre in Melbourne’s north has died in hospital.
Police have been told a man carrying a gun approached the victim in an Officeworks car park at Campbellfield around 3.30pm.
He shot the man a number of times before fleeing in what appeared to be a red Holden Commodore.
Nearby retail workers have told Channel Nine how bystanders ran for their lives.
The victim of the shooting was taken to hospital in a critical condition but has since died.
A man was arrested on Tuesday afternoon.
