Tony Jones says it’s time for a rethink on daylight saving, saying the extra light would be better utilised later in the day.

The clocks go back this week as the Victoria and New South Wales move back to AEST (Australian Eastern Standard Time).

But the 3AW Mornings host says it’s time to considering keeping daylight saving during the winter months.

“Surely the time is going to come to have (daylight saving) all year round,” he said on 3AW.

“I can’t understand why we’d want an extra hour’s daylight in the morning – particularly in winter – when we could probably utilise it better when we come home from work or school.”
