Carlton football club loses CareerOne as a sponsor
RUMOUR CONFIRMED: Carlton is losing a major sponsor, leaving it in a million dollar “black hole”.
The Rumour File was told last week that a jumper sponsor for a Victorian based football club wasn’t up to date with its sponsor payments.
‘CareerOne’, a training organisation chaired by Andrew Demetriou, has advised the club it will not be able to fulfil the third year of its deal.
The club has told The Age it’s business as usual at the moment, but has not ruled out going to the AFL for financial assistance.
The Carlton President says it’s going to be tight, but NOT catastrophic.
Players will continue to wear the ‘CareerOne’ logo on their jumpers for now, as the search for a new sponsor continues.
