There is a renewed push for AFL games to be played at Princes Park for premiership points.

The popular ground hasn’t hosted a home-and away game since 2005 but could be re-developed following a review into suburban venues.

Carlton great Peter Dean says it’s one of the best grounds he played on and bringing it back would benefit both players and fans.

‘It needs a little bit of work but it’d be a great venue for AFL and the smaller crowds,’ he told 3AW News.

‘With the success of the women’s league, I think it’s a no-brainer.’
