Carlton to seek compensation over Liam Jones

Carlton coach Michael Voss has confirmed the Blues will seek compensation over Liam Jones after the AFL dropped its vaccination mandate.
Jones, who chose not to be vaccinated, retired from the Blues with a year to run on his contract due to the AFL’s policy of all players requiring two jabs by February 2022.
If the defender had not retired he could have been named in tomorrow night’s clash against Geelong.
“It’s been quite unique and complex – I think everyone appreciates that,” Voss said on Friday.
“We also respect Liam’s position, but we’ve also got a position as a club we need to take, and we’ll follow through as strongly as we possibly can to see what’s available to us.”
