Caroline Wilson ‘disgusted’ by fan behaviour at Adelaide Oval on Saturday

Caroline Wilson admits she’s concerned by how some fans are behaving at games.

The behaviour of footy fans during Saturday night’s now-infamous showdown at Adelaide Oval was put under the microscope on Sports Today.

While the racist incident involving Eddie Betts has rightly been the focus of attention, Caro said it appeared to be symptomatic of a wider problem at the football.

Betts and his Adelaide teammates were also being verbally abused at the time of the incident, with young children also getting in on the act.

‘It was utterly disgusting,’ Caro said on 3AW.

‘I know showdowns can get a bit feral, but to see that young boy using the f-word and the c-word and the fingers? It was utterly disgraceful.

‘It can be a really unpleasant experience now, sitting in the crowd.’
