Caroline Wilson has taken a bat to Rodney Eade over his not-so-subtle swipe at Gold Coast’s trip to China.

The Suns coach has voiced his displeasure at the travel involved in getting to Shanghai to take on the Power, also vowing to not take any players with respiratory issues due to the pollution.

Caro said it was the ‘greatest exaggeration’ she’d heard.

‘I checked with the Gold Coast – there are no known asthmatics in the team,’ she said on Sportsday.

Wilson said she couldn’t understand why Eade would undermine the trip, as well as his team’s chances of winning the historic clash.

‘They’re world class athletes – well, they claim to be,’ she said.

‘It’s just an absolute joke.

‘Why would you give your players an out in the week of a game?’
