Caroline Wilson on Jobe Watson’s Brownlow medal and penalties for GWS trio
Caroline Wilson expects the AFL to award Trent Cotchin and Sam Mitchell with Brownlow medals after Jobe Watson decided to hand his back.
‘I think that’s what they’ll do and I’ll certainly be very critical if they don’t,’ she explained on Sports Today.
She said the launch of next season would perhaps be a good time to do it.
Caroline Wilson said Watson should be applauded for his actions, despite the fact she’s ‘certain’ the AFL would have taken it off him anyway.
‘It was the decision he had to make, but I don’t think that should diminish the gesture,’ she said.
‘It’s one of the first times in a while that somebody at that club, involved at that time, has put the club and game ahead of themselves.’
Caro also dropped a bomb on the GWS investigation, telling 3AW she expected Lachie Whitfield to accept a six-month ban.
She said the AFL would also move to strip the Giants of draft picks in the upcoming draft.
