Caroline Wilson has rated Alastair Clarkson a 75-1 chance of being Collingwood’s next coach.

The 3AW Football commentator said ‘something was going on’ with Clarkson’s Hawthorn contract, given the four-time premiership coach still hadn’t officially re-signed with the Hawks.

Wilson was quick to point out she thought Clarkson had ‘no intention’ of leaving the Hawks, but speculation would remain until he put pen to paper.

‘I’m not being mischievous, I’m just simply making the point that he’s the most sought after coach in the game – if uncontracted – and at the end of this year he is,’ she explained on 3AW’s Sports Today.

‘That might change this week, but I’ve been asking Hawthorn the question now for a long time.

‘We’re heading towards late April and I was told this was ‘pretty much done’ in September, November, December and then February.

‘Something is going on.

‘I’m not saying Alastair is leaving Hawthorn, I’m sure he has no intention of leaving Hawthorn.’
