Carrum Downs family devastated after their car was ransacked during a bushfire
A Carrum Down’s family has had their car ransacked while they fought a bushfire behind their home.
During the chaos, the thief has gone into their car and stolen their 13-year-old son’s new wallet full of his Christmas money and gift cards.
Sarah Eden-Smith tells 3AW’s Tony Jones she’s absolutely devastated that someone could do something like this.
‘We were asked to move our cars out of the driveway in case the fire fighters needed access.’
‘We’re gutted Tony, just gutted,’ she said on 3AW Mornings.
Sarah tells Tony her son was saving up for a new BMX Bike, ‘He’s got his eye on a new bike, it’s quite a few hundred dollars.’
Thanks to the generosity of 3AW listeners, donations have already started to flood through for the family.
