CASA investigating near miss between helicopter and drone
UPDATE
The Civil Aviation Safety Authority has confirmed it is investigating an incident in which a helicopter narrowly missed a drone.
Mark Skidmore, Director of Aviation Safety at CASA, told Tom Elliott drones should not be flown above 400 feet.
‘You must only operate the aircraft in the line of sight in visual conditions,’ Mr Skidmore said.

On Friday, a helicopter pilot in Melbourne reported he had to swerve to miss a drone.
Chairman of Strategic Aviation Solutions Neil Hansford branded drones a ‘ticking time bomb’.
‘I hope it doesn’t take one of these things bringing down something like an ambulance or police helicopter,’ he told Tom Elliott.
