CBD attack: Man stabbed while leaving city restaurant

A man has been stabbed while leaving a CBD restaurant overnight.

He was near the corner of Lonsdale and Russell streets when he was approached by two unknown men about 3.20am.

The men stole his phone and car keys before slashing the victim, 31, across the neck and arms.

He was rushed to hospital. The extent of the injuries is unclear but police say he is not in a life-threatening condition.

The offenders fled the scene and remain on the run.
