A barista who took a punt and opened a cafe in the CBD in January, banking on Melbourne springing back to life, admits it may be unsustainable if more workers don’t return to the city soon.

Sunny, who opened Sunny’s Espresso at 530 Collins Street, told Neil Mitchell there had been slight improvement in traffic this week after he opened in mid-January.

“It was like a ghost town for six weeks,” he said.
