CFMEU boss explains why he’s retiring from long-held role

CFMEU boss John Setka has explained why he’s opted to retire from the role he’s held for more than a decade.

He told union members of his decision at a meeting on Thursday afternoon.

“It’s a young persons game to be quite honest,” he told Jacqui Felgate on 3AW Drive.

“It take a big toll on you running a union and you’re under the gun a lot of the time.”
