Dwayne Russell says the game will look different next year under AFL Football Operations manager Steve Hocking.

He says we can no longer rely on coaches to make the game look better, and a focus will be on the center.

“We will get more starting positions for the center bounce.

“The AFL does not want to have a game where the guy in the center kicks forward to every player on the ground.”

Hocking along with David Raff, former right-hand man for Alistair Clarkson will present video footage to the look of the game committee on Thursday.

At under 18’s level, you already need to  have five players ahead of the ball at all time and six forwards.

“It is encouraged by the umpires and the runners,” Lloyd says.
