Channel 7 under attack over ‘offensive’ commercial

Channel 7 has come under attack for using the communist hammer and sickle to promote two Russian contestants on My Kitchen Rules.

Stefan Romaniw, chair of the Australian Federation of Ukrainian Organisations, said the commercial was clearly insulting to those who suffered under the communist regime.

“They need to understand that it’s offensive,” he told 3AW Drive.

“It’s a symbol of murder. It’s not a joke.

“Could you imagine them using a swastika to promote German contestants? Imagine the uproar.”
