Chapel St glassing: Violence breaks out at Prahran nightclub

A man has been arrested over an attack in a Prahran nightclub overnight.

The victim, 25, was sitting on a lounge at the rear of the Chapel Street club about midnight when he was approached by a man.

There was a short conversation between the pair, and then violence broke out.

The second man allegedly grabbed a glass and struck the 25-year-old several times.

The victim’s friends stepped in and stopped the assault with security staff detaining the man until police arrived.

Police this morning told Ross and John the man’s injuries were not serious.

A Brighton East man, 35, was taken into custody and is yet to be interviewed by police.

Witnesses are being urged to come forward.
