Chappell discusses ‘selfish’ Waugh

?Ian Chappell’s comments labelling former Australian Test captain as ‘selfish’ was one of the lead items in the sporting world today.

Chappell was quoted as saying Waugh was the most selfish cricketer he’s seen, however speaking on 3AW’s Sports Today program, he modified those comments slightly.

‘I have seen one more selfish than him… Geoff Boycott,’ Chappell said.

However he did not back down on his comments regarding Waugh either.

‘I didn’t like selfish cricketers when I played and I see why I should like them any better when I’m either watching or commentating.’

‘I thought he was selfish.’

In good news for the current crop of players, Chappell says he doesn’t see too many selfish characteristics in cricket today.

‘I can’t say that i’ve seen anyone of late that I’ve thought that way about.’
