Cheng Lei speaks for the first time on 3AW since her release from Chinese prison

Australian journalist Cheng Lei has spoken for the first time on 3AW since her release from Chinese prison.

Lei was detained in August 2020 in China after being accused of illegally supplying state secrets overseas, before being released in October and has now landed a role with Sky News Australia.

“Who’d have thought that I’d get my identity back so quickly, I thought I’d lost it forever,” Lei told Tony Jones.
