Chief Commissioner Graham Ashton has told Neil Mitchell he’s spent the weekend reflecting on the Bourke street tragedy.

Speaking in the 3AW studio, Mr Ashton said he’s confident police handled the situation well.

‘They’re feeling it this morning, along with the rest of the community’ he said.

‘They’ll be thinking ‘what if I’d made a different decision?’

‘But I’m absolutely backing them 100%.’

Mr Ashton also threw his support behind proposed changes to the bail system.
