More than $12 billion of taxpayer money would go down the drain if the Suburban Rail Loop was ditched, according to a secret government briefing provided to Premier Ben Carroll.

MacroBusiness chief economist Leith van Onselen told 3AW Breakfast hosts Ross Stevenson and Mark Allen it is a lose-lose situation.

Press PLAY to hear what the “best-case” scenario would be according to van Onselen

“We are still looking at billions of dollars of lost money for nothing, again,” he said.
