There’s been an alarming increase in the number of people who are suffering under the Legionnaires’ disease outbreak in Melbourne.

There are now 33 confirmed cases in Melbourne and 10 suspected cases, and Victoria’s Chief Health Officer Dr Clare Looker said the number of cases might increase tonight as more results come through.

“This large number over only five days since Friday afternoon is a significant increase, so yes a concern,” Dr Looker told Nick McCallum, filling in for Jacqui Felgate on 3AW Drive.
