Child found in hot car hid from his mother during the school drop-off

LATEST: The eight-year-old boy found unresponsive in a hot car at Newport yesterday had hidden himself in the car.

Police say his mother dropped her children at primary school in the morning.

It’s believed the boy climbed into the rear of the car and hid himself from his mother’s view.

His mother drove to work, parked her car, without realising he was in the back.

The boy was rushed to hospital and remains in a critical condition.
