Chopper to the Rescue

RUMOUR CONFIRMED: A helicopter had to be called out to a medical emergency during a recent cruise that left Melbourne headed for New Zealand.

The Rumour File heard the passenger was winched to the helicopter as it hovered above the ship.

Alison Chalmers was a passenger on-board. 

‘They closed off the top of the ship, no doubt because of the danger and we weren’t allowed up the top at all’ explained Alison.

It was the first day of the cruise with passengers told the ship had to turn towards Tasmania to meet the helicopter.

‘We lost 8 hours sailing’ she said.
