Christian Petracca ‘will be a Melbourne player next year’

Melbourne captain Max Gawn believes Christian Petracca will be at the club in 2026.

Petracca explored his options at the end of last season but ultimately stayed at the Demons, and is reportedly assessing his options again.

“I was concerned last year (about losing him)…trade period is such an interesting time,” he told 3AW Football.

“At this stage, from what I’m hearing, Trac (Christian Petracca) will be a Melbourne player next year and he’s pretty keen to do that.”

“But trade period can throw up some spanners.”

Gawn also confirmed he’s set to speak with “really good mate” Steven May after reports surfaced that he’s been told to find another club for 2026.
