How many Christmas presents is too many?

3AW Mornings program psychologist Dr Michael Carr-Gregg says his when it comes to children, it’s simple.

‘I’ve got this philosophy you buy them four,’ he said.

‘One thing they need, one thing they want, one thing they read and one to give to a charity in their name.’

Referencing UK mum Emma Tapping, who made headlines for buying more than 80 presents for each of her three kids, Dr Carr-Gregg said that was stupidity.

‘Isn’t Christmas about family? It’s not about how many gifts you give.’
