The Christmas spirit is alive and well in Gladstone Park.

The Rumour File heard grinch-like thieves ripped down and ruined an elaborate Christmas lights display from the front of the Good Shepherd Church.

And while the parish priest paid $2000 out of his own money to replace the lights, a former student has come forward to help out.

Parish chairman Leo Gale told 3AW Breakfast the lights would be back up in time for the big day thanks to the kind-hearted former student and his company.

‘He said don’t worry about the cost, don’t worry about anything, we’ll come and do it,’ he said.

‘This time of year, Father Christmas is alive and well.’
