Citizen arrested performed after violent incident outside St Kilda convenience store

A woman in her 20’s has been taken to hospital after a stabbing in St Kilda East this morning.

Victoria Police say the woman was walking along Hotham Street when a man approached her, and allegedly slashed her arm just after 8:30.

Caller Manuel described the incident as “violent”.

“Two people have gone into an altercation and there’s been a violent attack on the other,” he told Tom Elliott.

Police also say the alleged attacker also attempted to flee before members of the public restrained him.

A man was taken to hospital after taking part in the citizen arrest.
