City of Melbourne accused of ‘insulting’ ratepayers with proposed Singapore graffiti trip
The City of Melbourne has been accused of “insulting” ratepayers, with reports the Lord Mayor will fly to Singapore on a fact-finding mission to help combat Melbourne’s graffiti problem.
The trip is yet to be approved.
Tony Jones said it would be a waste of time and money and it was obvious why graffiti was scarce in Singapore.
“We know how they combat it – they have very strict laws,” he said.
“Quite clearly, they’ve deleted their Zoom app at Town Hall.”
Claire, who is now back in Melbourne after living in Singapore for more than a decade, said Sally Capp did not need to go to Singapore.
“An insult to ratepayers, in my opinion,” she said.
Claire said she was “shocked” by the amount of graffiti she came home to.
