Mayor of the City of Yarra, Stephen Jolly, has defended himself after being hit with an assault charge this afternoon.

The charge of unlawful assault comes after a gate-crashing incident at an election after party in 2024.

“I’m 100 per cent not guilty, I’ve got witnesses coming out of every orifice, we’ll be fighting this tooth and nail,” councillor Jolly told Jacqui Felgate.
