City tram smash causes havoc

FIRST ON 3AW MORNINGS: Trams have been banked up in all directions at the intersection of Collins Street and Spencer Street, with the collision causing chaos for all commuters.

The St Kilda-bound tram speared into a Box Hill-bound tram, smashing glass across the street and wedging itself inside the tram.

Emergency services are at the scene but there are no reports of injuries.

All passengers have disembarked.

A section of Collins St was closed by police, affecting a large part of CBD traffic.
