Claire Tallent has opened up about her devastating Commonwealth Games exit.

Claire was leading the 20km racewalk when she was disqualified in the dying stages.

Yet despite her understandable devastation, Claire was the first to congratulate the eventual winner, Jemima Montag, in what Neil Mitchell described as a “marvellous moment of sportsmanship”.

Claire told Neil it’s been a long 24 hours.

“I’m absolutely devastated, as you may or may not be able to imagine,” she said.

“I’m not sure how long it’s going to take to get over.”

Claire said she accepts the judges’ decision.

“That’s the nature of the sport.”
