‘Collateral damage’: Heatherton homeowner makes stunning SRL revelation

A Heatherton resident is claiming she won’t see any compensation from the Suburban Rail Loop construction, saying she and her neighbours feel like collateral damage.

Homeowner Robyn says the tunnels will partially run under her home, but in order to get any compensation, she would need to spend money she doesn’t have.

“So, at eight metres, you would imagine that there would be some form of compensation, we have been told that we would need to apply for compensation and pay for our own valuation and legal fees in that process,” she said.

“The wording of the letter is quite hard to understand, also, so many people would look at that, myself included, and go ‘it’s just too hard’,” she added.
