Colless the man for Brisbane: Gerard Healy
The Brisbane Lions should ‘helicopter in’ an experienced senior person to be chairman of the Brisbane Lions, according to Gerard Healy.
The two names Healy put forward on Sports Today, former Swans chairman Richard Colless and former AFL CEO Ross Oakley.
Speaking about Colless, Healy made reference to his time at the helm for Sydney which began when the team was in big trouble on and off the field.
‘I think Richard would help footy out in anyway he can,’ Healy said.
‘He knows footy clubs. Sydney were in as bad a state in 1993 at Brisbane are now.’
However during his time at Sydney, Colless developed a frosty relationship with the AFL.
‘Those things can be patched up,’ said Healy.
