Collingwood champion Dane Swan announces retirement

Collingwood champion Dane Swan has retired.

The 2011 Brownlow medallist, who has missed almost the entire season through injury, confirmed on Tuesday he wouldn’t be continuing his career next year.

The Magpies superstar sent a letter to members shortly after 10.30am.

He played 258 games for Collingwood and was a key player in the club’s 2010 premiership.
