Collingwood could ‘learn a lot’ from Sydney, says Caroline Wilson
Caroline Wilson says Collingwood could “learn a lot” from Sydney when it comes to running a football club.
Speaking on 3AW, Wilson said she noticed a stark contrast in how both clubs announced changes to their chief executive this week.
The Magpies held a major press conference, while the Swans announced their succession plan with a short press release.
“This is a great football club, by any measure,” Caroline Wilson said of the Swans.
“And what we saw at Collingwood was a club attempting to portray itself as a great club.
“You could not say, to be brutal, that Collingwood is a great football club now.
“Yes, they still make profits, but not nearly the profits they could be making and their on-field results have been woeful.
“It is just such a cautionary tale about succession planning.”
