Collingwood forward Travis Cloke requests trade

Travis Cloke has requested a trade away from Collingwood.

The Magpies confirmed on Tuesday the 2010 premiership star wished to be released from the final year of his contract.

The 29-year-old has been frustrated this season, unable to maintain his spot in the team.

‘Collingwood can confirm that veteran forward Travis Cloke this morning asked to be released from the final year of his contract,’ the club said in a statement.

‘Collingwood respect Travis’ right to explore his options and acknowledge his 12 years of exceptional senior service.’

Speculation that season 2016 would be Cloke’s last in black and white dogged him all year.

He played 246 games for the Pies.
