Come to paradise: French Island Cricket Club needs players

The French Island Cricket Club is running a bold recruitment drive to attract new players and keep the club alive.

Club captain Matthew Spark told Ross and John the island is accessible by a passenger ferry.

And they have a few incentives for potential players, to take the trip across the bay.

“We are short on numbers this season,” he said.

“We probably have half a team or a bit more.”

He said the rewards for prospective recruits were based on wickets taken.
