Comedy Festival hits back at claims it ‘cancelled’ Barry Humphries
The director of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival denies the festival “cancelled” Barry Humphries, despite stripping his name from the festival’s biggest award in 2019.
Susan Provan told 3AW Drive on Monday the festival would be looking at ways to honour the iconic comedian after his death.
“We always absolutely applauded and valued him as a great comic genius,” Provan said.
