Commonwealth Games officials red-faced after massive bus error
Beach volleyballers from Grenada are blaming a massive error for their loss to Scotland.
The Commonwealth Games athletes were meant to go to Coolangatta, but the driver put the wrong destination in the navigation system.
The bus ended up at a velodrome in Brisbane, 100km away.
Once the embarrassing bungle was realised, a police escort guided them to the correct venue.
Games chief Mark Peters said the incident is “unacceptable” and are taking steps to ensure it doesn’t happen again.
