An Australian TV viewer has sparked an investigation after they made an official complaint about a handful of PointsBet commercials featuring basketball icon Shaquille O’Neal and Australian comedic group The Inspired Unemployed.

The complainant to the the Ad Standards community panel said the advertisements discriminated and vilified Australians and portrayed them as stupid yobbos.

“I think it’s obvious that it’s a parody,” Jessie Weatherly, brand expert from Jork Consulting, said on 3AW Drive.
