Merri-bek councillor Oscar Yildiz has criticised colleague Sue Bolton, after she wore a Palestinian garb in council on Wednesday night, just a few days after the Bondi terror attack.

Councillor Yildiz told Shane McInnes he was “completely horrified”.

“What I saw last night was disrespectful, highly insensitive, and I think a line was crossed,” he said on 3AW Mornings.

Sue Bolton then had right of reply later in the program, stating she doesn’t regret wearing the garb in council.

“I stand against all acts of terrorism and mass murder, regardless of who is being targeted and regardless of who is doing the targeting,” Councillor Bolton told Shane McInnes.

Press PLAY to hear the 3AW host challenge the councillor

“I reject the idea that any symbol of Palestine is anti-Jewish.”
