Composer writes soundtrack to drawn grand final between St Kilda and Collingwood

A Melbourne composer is writing a soundtrack to the 2010 drawn AFL grand final between St Kilda and Collingwood.

The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra will perform ‘The Draw: A Symphony’ in September.

Footage of the drama-filled game will be projected during the performance.

Tamil Rogeon said the idea came about while he listened to Stravinsky’s Rite Of Spring while watching a muted footy match on TV.

‘I was quite struck by the power of the music when combined with the football,’ he said.
