Concern over number of Australians who don’t understand preferential voting system
Election season is fast approaching, but there is concern over the number of Australians who openly admit to not understanding how the preference voting system works.
“It is a complicated system, but it doesn’t need to be as complicated as most people think,” Evan Ekin-Smyth from the Australian Electoral Commission told Tom Elliott.
He reassured voters of one thing.
“It is always in the voter’s hands who they vote for,” he said.
