Most major car brands say they will no longer make petrol and diesel vehicles by the end of the decade, if not sooner.

It’s led Tom Elliott to question whether Australia’s infrastructure is ready to handle the switch en masse to electric vehicles.

Professor Peter Newman, Professor of Sustainability at Curtin University, said the change wouldn’t solely be driven by climate change alone.

“The money is now in solar and wind,” he said.

He spoke about what’s being done to ramp up Australia’s infrastructure in the coming years.
